Please note - We will be unable to accept pet permission requests if your property has:
- communal entrances
- no individual or communal gardens
- no local exercise area or green space
- Any permission granted will be on the basis that you are responsible for the health and welfare of your pet/s. Under the Welfare Act 2006, this is called a duty of care. This requires day to day management and care of your pet. Any questions about the care of a pet will be referred to a vet or specialist organisation that can help.
- As part of your tenancy agreement, you agree to be responsible for any damage caused to the property by your pets. Most damage caused by pets is due to lack of supervision or control of the pet and therefore you must act responsibly to prevent this.
- The control of pets and any pets visiting the property will be your responsibility.
- Dogs must always be kept on a lead when in public areas and supervised outside your home. Dog mess must be removed immediately by the owner.
- Pets must not cause a nuisance to neighbours and/or the community. Examples of this include:
- Pets fouling in communal areas and neighbours' gardens
- Excessive noise
- Unpleasant odours from pets
- Aggressive animals
- This is not an exhaustive list
- No pet should be left in your property when you are away, unless clear arrangements have been made to provide adequate care.
- All dogs must be microchipped.
- We will not grant permission for breeding animals.
We will consider withdrawing permission if there is evidence confirming any of the conditions have been breached. We will also take legal action against serious or persistent reports of nuisance caused by pets.be microchipped.
